Paula Scher expands her iconic collection of typographic maps, with featured renditions of Berlin, London, Tokyo, Rome, World Trade Routes, and USA Distances, published by Art Novel. Scher’s macrocosms are as intrinsically absurd, as they are oddly familiar. The collection in its entirety highlights a delineation from over-stimulation in the modern age; the constant barrage of advertising, news, signs and symbols that surround us. The artist’s unequivocal renderings of abundance are in some sense a meta-study of semiotics; astute in their own brand of Scherian satire.
